BROPHY BASKETBALL RESULTS – The Broncos were on the road last night at Desert Ridge and here are the results:  Congratulations Freshmen who won 71-18 and JV who won 46-41.  Varsity lost a close one 49-47.

Next games are tonight at Corona del Sol!

DIPLOMATIC CORPS – There is a short mandatory meeting TODAY @ BREAK of the Diplomatic Corps in Harper Great Hall (NW corner). We will be explaining our help in the annual Brophy E.L.F. Drive.  The Diplomatic Corp is sponsoring 3 families to fill their pantry for the holidays! All Diplomats have been assigned to a team for the E.L.F. drive—either “E”, “L”, or “F”. You will meet with your team and leaders on Friday for a few minutes to determine how you can contribute to the ELF drive/pantry list.

SHOWTIME TONIGHT!  BCP/XCP Production Romeo and Juliet – Remaining shows are Tonight, 7 p.m. and Saturday night, Dec. 1, 6 p.m.  Tickets are $10 and will be available from cast members, Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center, or at the door! We hope to see you at the show!  Due to limited parking on Saturday night for 2 events, please get your tickets TODAY.

APS Electric Light Parade and Play PARKING AT BROPHY Saturday, December 1.  Brophy will have an attendant at the Highland entrance leading to Brophy Hall for parade attendees to pay to park in the South lot.  The cost to park will be $10 and proceeds will go to the E.L.F. drive. The attendant will not charge playgoers (please show your ticket) or Brophy employees for parking to go to the play or the Light Parade.  Play start: 6 p.m.; Parade start time is 7 p.m. Central Ave. & Montebello Ave.  *This is a rain or shine event.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY TUTORS AVAILABLE Brophy Broncos – Did you know that there are only three weeks left until final exams?  Did you know we have National Honor Society Tutors ready and waiting to help you?

If you are in need of some tutoring. Go to the Groups Tab on your myBrophy Page. Click on the Academic Resource Center and you can make an appointment with a Tutor. Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open!  Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. The E.L.F Drive (Extending Love to Families) – We hope you’ll adopt a family that needs assistance this holiday season.  These families live below the poverty line and have at least one child with developmental disabilities. Our pantry and gift donations really do make their Christmas.  If your family, your department, your club, your team, or your particular period class would like to join in this elvish endeavor, contact Mrs. Sue Hornbeck. We will get you the info you need to help out.  Food pantry items and wrapped gifts will be due to the Black Box Theater by 12noon on Monday, December 17.  Behind every great ELF, there’s a Bronco.

A DREAM TO EDUCATE – TONIGHT – 6 pm – HGH – The Dream On campaign continues as it examines the impact to for Arizona Supreme Court decision to take away access to in-state to all undocumented persons. Come listen to two members of our community share about the ways it is affecting their lives and learn about what you can do to challenge this injustice! Members from the Kino Border Initiative and from Aliento will also be present!

DIPLOMATIC CORPS – There is a short mandatory meeting on Friday, Nov. 30 of the Diplomatic Corps in Harper Great Hall (NW corner) at BREAK. We will be explaining our help in the annual Brophy E.L.F. Drive.  The Diplomatic Corp is sponsoring 3 families to fill their pantry for the holidays! All Diplomats have been assigned to a team for the E.L.F. drive—either “E”, “L”, or “F”. You will meet with your team and leaders on Friday for a few minutes to determine how you can contribute to the ELF drive/pantry list.

Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open!  Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. If you have questions, email Run for Justice.

The E.L.F Drive (Extending Love to Families) – We hope you’ll adopt a family that needs assistance this holiday season.  These families live below the poverty line and have at least one child with developmental disabilities. Our pantry and gift donations really do make their Christmas.  If your family, your department, your club, your team, or your particular period class would like to join in this elvish endeavor, contact Mrs. Sue Hornbeck. We will get you the info you need to help out.  Food pantry items and wrapped gifts will be due to the Black Box Theater by 12noon on Monday, December 17.  Behind every great ELF, there’s a Bronco.

The E.L.F Drive (Extending Love to Families) begins TODAY and we hope you’ll adopt a family that needs assistance this holiday season.  These families live below the poverty line and have at least one child with developmental disabilities. Our pantry and gift donations really do make their Christmas.  If your family, your department, your club, your team, or your particular period class would like to join in this elvish endeavor, contact Mrs. Sue Hornbeck. BROPHY FINE ARTS EXTRAVAGANZA (FAE)TONIGHT, 6:00pm – 9:00pm with live music, multiple art galleries, poetry, food trucks, coffee, 2D art, 3D art, video, jazz, choir, rock, acoustic, and solo performances. Feel free to bring your friends and family – you can come and go as you please. It’s meant to mimic a First Friday downtown but at this point in its career, Mr. Burr will argue it’s better.  We’ve seen such a demand from student performers this year that we added a second outdoor stage  The FAE Website is now updated with all of the information for tomorrow night www.brophyprep.org/FAE . Inspired by our Catholic faith and commitment to human dignity, we invite you to join to listen to the stories of two students whose struggle to create a better life due to their of access to an affordable college education in Arizona. Along with a number of partner organizations and the larger Jesuit community, we will learn about the reality that our students and community members face.  This event is open to the public, all are invited!

BCP/XCP Production Romeo and Juliet continues – Shows will resume after Thanksgiving break on November 29, 30 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center, or at the door! We hope to see you at the show!

Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open!  Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. CONGRATULATIONS SOCCER HEAD COACH PAUL ALLEN – United Soccer Coaches has named Coach Paul Allen the 2018 Winter Region High School Coach of the Year.  Our region Consist of Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, AZ and Hawaii.  He will be receiving his award at the National Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

CONGRATULATIONS MATH TEAM! This Saturday Alex Noori, Alex Rouhani, Connor Hill, Kris Noori, Nick Hulston, and Amit Das claimed 6 trophies including 1st place overall.  Kris Noori and Nick Hulston placed 1st and 2nd as juniors while Alex Noori, Alex Rouhani, and Connor Hill each placed 1st through 3rd in this state qualifier.

CONGRATULATION DAVE MOHAN ’18 and MASON MILLER ’22 for both going undefeated their entire season and post-season and winning at the State Individual Tournament!  This past weekend, these Broncos and their teammates, Nick Talone (’18) and Ryan Huerta (’19) played 30 hours of chess each across two days against the best high school players in Arizona.  After the dust settled, Dave took 3rd in State and Mason took 9th.  Way to go, Brophy champions!

CONGRATULATIONS HOCKEY – Great Weekend for our Broncos!  Varsity beat Notre Dame for the first time in 4 years.  Whoo Hoo! We dominated them 7-4.  Dean Angelo was on fire and scored a hat-trick, Jack Peterson put two in the net and Nick Thomson and Michael Thomas each had one goal.  Assist went to Joel Tessmer, Michael Hardie, Jack Allen, and Connor Pitts.  JV beat Mountain Ridge 5-2.  Peter Warner and Ryan Gelinas each scored 2 goals and Kindan Linse finished off the win.  Jack Stooks and Max Vitti each had an assist.  Go Broncos!

BLAM. BLAM is sponsoring two new contests in the lead-up to the Fine Arts Extravaganza. BRONCOS FOR LIFE SPEAKER, TODAY @ lunch, K10 – The Broncos for Life are hosting Elizabeth Van Wie who will be sharing her personal experience of facing an unplanned pregnancy.   It will be in K10 on November 19th at Lunch. She will give a personal testimony on the challenges facing women today.  All are welcome to join!

BROPHY FINE ARTS EXTRAVAGANZA (FAE)Tuesday, November 20th – It’s from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm with live music, multiple art galleries, poetry, food trucks, coffee, 2D art, 3D art, video, jazz, choir, rock, acoustic, and solo performances. Feel free to bring your friends and family – you can come and go as you please. It’s meant to mimic a First Friday downtown but at this point in its career, Mr. Burr will argue it’s better.  We’ve seen such a demand from student performers this year that we added a second outdoor stage.   We’ll have a full schedule live and ready to go by the end of day tomorrow at brophyprep.org/fae. In the meantime feel free to get a sneak peek at all of the acts here.

Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open!  Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. Seniors you can also order announcements, class rings and other items if you wish. (Juniors can also place orders for class rings.)
