CONGRATULATIONS MR. JON SHORES AND OUR BROPHY GOLF STATE CHAMPIONS – Congratulations to the golf team for their 1st place finish at the 2018 Division 1 state championship. The team battled Chaparral and Hamilton on day 2 until finally pulling away on the last few holes to secure the victory. Special congratulations to Zack Missigman for his runner up finish on the individual side and to Tony Hendricks for his 3rd place finish, both finishing the 36-hole event under par.
CONGRATULATIONS BRONCOS! Brophy Students Joshua Leslie ’19, Justin Loo ’19, Greyson Taylor ’19, and Jackson Whitaker ’20, were recently inducted into the 2019 Jack and Jill of American Phoenix Chapter, Men of Valor 20th Biannual Beautillion. The event will take place at 6 p.m., March 30, 2019, at the Wild Horse Pass Resort. Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is a membership organization dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty.

Hermanos Unidos invites everybody to participate in this year’s Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead ofrenda table. All are welcome to a place a non-valuable item (copy of a picture, small item, etc) that reminds them of a lost loved one as this week we remember and honor those who have passed. If you place an item on the ofrenda, please pick it up at the end of school on Friday.
Open House Tour Guides still needed for this Sunday! The Admissions Office is still looking for students willing to help out for a 2-hour shift this Sunday during the annual Open House. If you can help, please contact Mrs. Scheuring at email@example.com as soon as possible. We will provide you with the training you need. In addition, students on work-study can receive credit for their time helping.

Juniors – Come meet and have a pizza lunch with Ms. Renke on Tuesday, Nov. 6. She wants to get to know you better, so the first 30 juniors to sign up in the Dean’s Office will share their lunch hour with Ms. Renke. The sign-up sheet will be available beginning Monday, Oct. 29. The pizza lunch will be served in the Faculty Lounge which is located off of the McCain Colonnade.

Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open! Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. If you have questions, email Run for Justice.
Sunday, November 4, 2018 – Fall 2018 Open House – 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. – Brophy’s premier admission event is open to the public with no sign-up required. Join us for campus tours and information on academic programs, co-curricular activities, financial aid, transportation, and the admissions process. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to students, faculty, administration, coaches, and parents. Students of all ages are invited to attend with their parents – it’s never too early to think about being a Brophy Bronco!
Tours will begin at 12:30 p.m. and leave approximately every 20 minutes. Check in at Harper Great Hall to begin your tour. All ages are welcome No dress code No registration required

ALL “SOLES” DAY – Do you have some new or gently used work or tennis shoes that are ready for another journey? Why not donate them this week for the All Soles Day Shoe Drive benefitting the Kino Border Initiative. Bring in a pair of shoes to the Graham Plaza near the Boo Jeans clothesline any day this week.

Brophy TRACK AND FIELD coaches will lead a fitness training for BCP students on Mondays and Thursdays from 3-5pm from now until Christmas Break. These sessions will include flexibility, speed, and speed endurance activity at BSC from 3 – 4:15, and then finish in the weight room from 4:20-5pm. Consider track & field as a sport for you – it is fun to compete in any of the 18 events and you can build athleticism, explosiveness, and speed for your other sports. Contact Mr. Kalkman with any questions about these workouts, or for information about Brophy Track and Field.

Alumni Speaker Series – Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ken Kendrick to Headline Alumni Speaker Series (Open to Everyone in the Community). On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Ken Kendrick, Arizona Diamondbacks managing general partner, will be our featured speaker in the 2018-19 Alumni Speaker Series. * It is open to the entire Brophy community. Mr. Kendrick’s talk will address “How You End Up Where You Are” and will be moderated by Tom Leander ’82.
