CONGRATULATIONS FRESHMEN VOLLEYBALL TEAM who earned an impressive road victory last night over the Highland Hawks, winning 2 sets to 0.  Great Job Broncos!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE approximately 130 members of our student ensembles, The Honor Chorale, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra who participated and competed at the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival with nearly 40 schools from CA, NV, AZ, GA, FL and more were at this festival.  Honor Chorale brought home 2nd place in the 3A Men’s Choir category. The festival director spoke to one of the chaperones and praised our young men for their respectful behavior. The Brophy and Xavier combined choirs took 3rd place competing at the 3A level. A very successful trip. Quality teamwork, cooperation, and accountability were evident from start to finish.

CONGRATULATIONS CAMERON MACKENZIE – There were over 2700 students in attendance at this festival representing probably more than 40 schools.  Each director was asked to submit a nomination for the “You Make the Magic” award.  This award, as the request described, would be presented to a student ‘who has shown strength of character and passion for the arts as they pursue excellence….’.  It goes on to say ‘someone who believes in not only their dreams and aspirations but supports their families dreams, school music programs, their school and community and works to make the world a better place”.  They only choose ONE student.  Mr. Olson nominated Cameron MacKenzie.  HE WAS CHOSEN!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TALENTED Brophy/Xavier Bands and Orchestra; results are as follows:

*Wind Ensemble – Gold Award & 1st place in division 2, & The Adjudicator’s Award for the Most outstanding instrumental music performance of the entire festival.

*String Orchestra- Silver Award

*Jazz Band – Silver Award and 2nd place in Division 2

Additionally, Brophy/Xavier Mixed Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Wind Ensemble were all awarded an invitation to perform at the prestigious WorldStrides Festival of Gold for next year.  This is a great honor and those festivals are really incredible: all hosted at the following venues: Los Angeles, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Nashville, TN at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, San Francisco, CA at the Davis Symphony Hall, and Chicago, IL at the Orchestra Hall.  The adjudicators selected only 6 instrumental groups from all of the bands and orchestras to receive their Adjudicators Award.
