CONGRATULATIONS EAGLE SCOUTS:  Congrats go out to Senior Grant Gaylord and Sophomore Aidan Douglas for recently achieving the honor of Eagle Scout. Grant completed his project at St. Vincent de Paul and Aidan worked with Andre House.

Have you lost something??? Please stop in the Dean’s Office and check the Lost and Found. We have many water bottles, lunch boxes, string bags, and articles of clothing. All will be donated to charity at the end of the semester.

 

CHRISTMAS RED ARMY T-SHIRTS!  Santa has dropped off the newest version of the Christmas Red Army t-shirt in the Varsity shop and sizes are going fast.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS TOMORROW NIGHT!  It’s a NEON theme! 150 limited edition NEON Red Army shirts will be available in the Varsity Shop TODAY at lunch for $10. Once they sell out they are gone forever!

Join us this tomorrow, December 1, for our Neon Night Lights. Following the HOME basketball game against Skyline at 7pm in the Robson Gymnasium, come to the Great Hall for a neon themed dance.

The basketball game will be NEON themed so make sure you wear BRIGHT colors. 

  • Tickets will be $5 at the door with a Student ID
  • The FNL will last from the end of the basketball game (8:30pm) until 10:30pm
  • We’ll have dancing in the great hall, food, and an opportunity to create art
  • It’s a NEON theme. Wear bright colors.

Brophy Theatre Program Production “The Outsiders” RESUMES THURSDAY NIGHT, Nov. 30th, 7 p.m., BBT! Attention Skiers and Snowboarders:  There will be a Ski Club Meeting next Tuesday, December 5th, at lunch in Mrs. Venberg’s Room, B209. We will discuss the upcoming ski season and potential trips for the year.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DANCE – Save the date! Saturday, December 9th, from 8-11pm on XCP’s campus is our annual Christmas Dance. We want to see all students join us at A Very Merry Masquerade! Here are some important details:  Tickets will be sold online at www.xcp.org beginning Monday November 27th and the deadline to purchase tickets is Friday December 8th at 12 noon. No tickets will be sold after the deadline, and no tickets will be sold at the gate. Cost per ticket is $34.

–Each attendee must have his/her printed paper ticket to be admitted to the dance.

–You may bring one non-XCP/BCP guest to the dance. Be sure to complete the Guest Pass form (that you’ll receive when buying a ticket) and submit it to the Xavier Dean’s office no later than 8am on Friday December 8th.

–The dress code and other important dance directives are attached…please read them thoroughly.

CONGRATULATIONS BROPHY BASKETBALL – The Broncos kicked off the season against Mt. Pointe and here are the results:  Freshman won 54 – 23; JV lost 45 -59; Varsity won an exciting game 62 -61.  Our next game is Thursday at Mt. Ridge. GO BRONCOS!

XCP/BCP ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DANCE – Save the date! Saturday, December 9th, from 8-11pm on XCP’s campus is our annual Christmas Dance. We want to see all students join us at A Very Merry Masquerade! Here are some important details:  Tickets will be sold online at www.xcp.org beginning Monday November 27th and the deadline to purchase tickets is Friday December 8th at 12 noon. No tickets will be sold after the deadline, and no tickets will be sold at the gate. Cost per ticket is $34.

–Each attendee must have his/her printed paper ticket to be admitted to the dance.

–You may bring one non-XCP/BCP guest to the dance. Be sure to complete the Guest Pass form (that you’ll receive when buying a ticket) and submit it to the Xavier Dean’s office no later than 8am on Friday December 8th.

CONGRATULATIONS BROPHY SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM for their outstanding showing at the Mesquite Invitational this weekend.  Tournament Champions included:  Grant Gaylord won two events and placed second in individual sweepstakes!  Finalists included: Blaise Schaefer, Nik Kirk, Rohan Sidhu, Emma Elsbecker, Kevin Yin, Calvin Tyler, Shikar Srivastava, Sifraz Shah, Andrew Crusa, Aman Agarwal, William Hays, and Carl Justice.  Great work, everyone!

BROPHY HOCKEY HIGHLIGHTS:  Varsity lost to Pinnacle Pioneer 2-4.  Zach Mattson and Nick Thomson scored our two goals and Joel Tessmer received an assist. JV beat Chaparral Firebirds 4-0. Nilay Murty, Dawson Dewar, Ryan Gelinas and Michael Collins all put one in the net for the team. Gage Burkes had another shut out.  Great Job JV!

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

CONGRATULATIONS BROPHY CHESS FOR A GREAT SEASON!  Brophy Chess finished its 2017-18 season this weekend in Tucson with the AIA State Individual Competition.  In this competition, it’s every man for himself and every draw hurts and a loss hurts even more.  Play was especially fierce this year as chess has grown tremendously in popularity in the last few years.  After six tough rounds, in the Champion Section, Herman Sanghera won 4.5, which earned him 6th place in state overall; Dave Mohan–who did not lose a single game–also scored 4.5 and took 7th place in state.  Matt Scheller won 2.5 games in the same section.  Among the Alternates, Peter Moore won an impressive 4.5, Ryan Huerta won 3.5, and Alex Noori won 3.  Great job Broncos!  Time to look to next year!

We have 100 Arizona Cardinals tickets to raffle off to raise money for the many agencies and people we support with the Turkey Drive!  25 students will win 4 tickets to the Cardinals vs Jacksonville game on Sunday, 11/26, 2:30 p.m.  $1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5!  Tickets are being sold at the OFJ, in the SAC from Ms. Dennard, or the Varsity Shop! TODAY – before school, break and lunch!  Winners will be announced TODAY at the end of 6th period! BCP students only! Go Broncos! Go Angry Birds!

Brophy Theatre Program Announces Brophy’s production “The Outsiders” OPENS TONIGHT, 7 p.m., BBT! The play is based on the novel of the same name by S.E. Hinton which also became a classic film. The Outsiders tells the story of class conflict between the “Greasers,” youths from a poor neighborhood, and the “Socs” (short for Socials), a group of privileged kids from the wealthy west side of town. When published in 1967, the novel broke new ground in the young adult fiction genre with its portrayal of violence, class conflict, and prejudice. Tickets for Nov. 17th and 18th are on sale from Cast members and Ms. Dennard in the SAC @ $10 each.

We have 100 Arizona Cardinals tickets to raffle off to raise money for the many agencies and people we support with the Turkey Drive!  25 students will win 4 tickets to the Cardinals vs Jacksonville game on Sunday, 11/26, 2:30 p.m.  $1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5!  Tickets are being sold at the OFJ, in the SAC from Ms. Dennard, or the Varsity Shop! (2) Update the Doc’s sharing privileges (share > get shareable link > anyone at Brophy with the link can comment). (3) Visit pen.brophyprep.org to complete the PEN Submission Form as directed, and give us 24-48 hours to return your work with useful feedback.
