BASEBALL SCORES – Frosh lost 4-2 to Basha; JV baseball fell short to Basha 8-3, unable to erase an early deficit. Ethan Bertenshaw pitched well to start the game. Johnny Dowse, John Vanderwey and Cameron Glosser lead the team offensively with an RBI each.

PROM TICKETSNOTE:  Seniors and Juniors, you are not allowed to ask girls to prom during school hours at XCPNow, back to ticket sales…Juniors and Seniors, Prom tickets are officially on sale through Ms. Dennard (cash or check) and the Varsity Shop (credit card only). They are $50 per ticket. Guest passes are available below and need to be submitted through the Dean’s Office.  We will sell tickets and accept guest passes through the 20th of April.  Because of the formal nature of Prom we will not be able to sell tickets past the 20th of April.

Seating for the Baccalaureate MassNo tickets will be issued, but seating in St. Francis Xavier Church is limited. Families are advised to attend with just immediate family (parent/guardians and siblings). Doors open at 6:15 p.m. A reception will follow in the Harper Great Hall.

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

CONGRATULATIONS Varsity and JV tennis teams on an 8-1 defeat of Mountain Pointe.  The Broncos face a tough test today against the defending state champs, Desert Mountain.  Go Broncos!

CONGRATULATIONS JV baseball who won against Highland 15-5 behind a high powered offense led by catcher Johnny Dowse. Michael Placenti and Jerod Johnson also had strong pitching performances on the mound. The Broncos will look to carry this momentum against Basha on Thursday afternoon.

CONGRATULATIONS VARSITY LACROSSE – On Last Saturday, the Varsity Lacrosse team took on the Perry Pumas. Both the defensive and offensive sides of the Broncos played consistently leading to an 11-5 victory.

CONGRATULATIONS VARSITY BASEBALL for their 3-2 victory over Highland High School last night. The Broncos were led by Karl Zangerle, Mason Kokodynski, Wyatt Maus and the pitching of Frank Allman and Merrick Martin.

CONGRATULATIONS VARSITY AND JV TENNIS teams on their impressive 5-4 and 7-2 victories against Desert Vista.  The Broncos showed incredible poise and grit in fending off a very determined DV team.  The Broncos return to action today in an away match vs. Mountain Pointe.

Seating for the Baccalaureate MassNo tickets will be issued, but seating in St. Francis Xavier Church is limited. Families are advised to attend with just immediate family (parent/guardians and siblings). Doors open at 6:15 p.m. A reception will follow in the Harper Great Hall.

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

THREE new Eagle Scouts – CONGRATULATIONS to Brophy’s 3 in the Camelback District of the Grand Canyon Boy Scouts of America Council who achieved Eagle Rank in March:  Nicolas Riley ’17 Troop 329; Jonathan Bush ’17 Troop 127; and, Sebastian Diaz ’19 Troop 401.  Each one of these Brophy students had excellent Eagle Projects that help serve our Phoenix community in a meaningful and impactful way.

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

CONGRATULATIONS QUIZ BOWL This weekend, in a warm-up for Quiz Bowl Nationals in late May, Mr. Kolb and the Brophy Quiz Bowl team competed in the Verrado Invitational.  We ended up taking 1st place, going in-defeated in the day.  Competitors included: Kevin Yin, Harrison Fries, Krishna Sinha, Nate Ross, Alex Bhatt, Rohit Khurana, Nathan Ashok

The azcentral.com Sports Awards, presented by Arby’s, will honor an Athlete of the Year in every sport at the event on April 30.  At the end of each season, azcentral sports will announce three finalists for each Athlete of the Year award. The finalists are listed alphabetically.  All three will be invited to the awards show where the winner will be announced live.  Carter, 6-foot-3, had 36 goals and 8 assists, finishing with 80 points for a team that was seeded 1st in the 6A Conference state playoffs. He had a goal in a shootout state semifinal loss to Tolleson. Twice, he scored 4 goals in a game – against Phoenix Horizon and Scottsdale Coronado. He had back-to-back 3-goal games against Chandler Basha and Phoenix Desert Vista late in the season.  Way to go Carter!

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Varsity baseball team for their 2-1 win over #1 Ranked Pinnacle HS yesterday. Stephen Buckel was outstanding on the mound throwing 6 shutout innings. Will Worthington drove in Troy Weinstein in the bottom of the 7th for the walk off victory.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Brophy Varsity and JV tennis teams who both came away with 9-0 victories against Mesa High School in their match yesterday.  The Broncos are back in action against a tough Desert Vista team next Tuesday at the Phoenix Tennis Center at 3:30 PMCome on out and support the team!

STUDENT COUNCIL (STUCO) 2017-2018 meeting TODAY @ BREAK – We are about to start the process of selecting next year’s student council. Here is some information about the process.  First and most importantly, there is an informational meeting TODAY @ break in the SAC. It is very important that you try and be at this meeting because we will go over the selection process and answer any questions you may have. If you are interested please make every effort to be at the meeting TODAY @ break in the SAC.  The application to be eligible for voting/ selected for student council is due on Friday, March 31st. You will not be eligible for STUCO if this is not completed by the end of the school day. It is in your best interest to wait until after our meeting TODAY @ break in the SAC to fill out the application.  Lastly, we stress that although STUCO is a great leadership option on campus there are so many other ways to get involved. Regardless if you are a part of STUCO this upcoming year or not, please know that Mr. Oldani and Mr. Burr are committed to finding ways to help you grow as a leader. There will also be some new ways to get involved with the OFJ and helping run the Red Army.  All you have to do is ask! More information at the meeting TODAY @ break in the SAC.

The Spring Brophy/Xavier Senior Lunch is Coming!  Brophy STUCO presents, Picnic on the Dutch Lawn.

Seniors, On MONDAY, Brophy student council will be hosting a shared lunch between Brophy and Xavier on the Dutch Lawn. Be sure to bring picnic blankets as it will be on the grass.  Lunch will be available to buy on the lawn, however, feel free to bring your own as well!

Canoe in Canada and the BWCA waterways this June –  All Brophy students, there is room for up to 4 more adventurist guys to join our summer immersion canoe trip to the Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area!  We are departing PHX on May 30 and will return on June 9.  Your immediate attention to this is important – sign up with Mr. Kalkman, Mr. Davis, Mr. Unrein, or the OJF by TODAY.

Key Club/Tech4Cuba Technology Drive: Key club and Tech4Cuba are hosting a Brophy technology drive. We are collecting small electronic devices. CONGRATULATIONS VARSITY TENNIS TEAM on their Tuesday victory against the #1 team in the state, the Hamilton Huskies.  The JV unfortunately fell in a closely contested match.  Both teams competed incredibly well and will look to keep building momentum today in their away match vs. Mesa High School.

CONGRATULATIONS TRACK AND FIELD – Brophy athletes had many great performances on the track and field last night to earn a win over Corona HS – congratulations.  Varsity guys from both teams will be competing this Saturday night at Chandler HS in the Rotary Invitational.  Good luck Broncos.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL NEEDS YOU – Tonight is one of the biggest tests for your nationally ranked Brophy Volleyball team. We need a big crowd tonight as we host a talented Desert Vista team. STUDENT COUNCIL (STUCO) 2017-2018 – We are about to start the process of selecting next year’s student council. Here is  some information about the process.  First and most importantly, there is an informational meeting this Friday, March 24th @ break in the SAC. It is very important that you try and be at this meeting because we will go over the selection process and answer any questions you may have. If you are interested please make every effort to be at the meeting Friday, March 24th @ break in the SAC.  The application to be eligible for voting/ selected for student council is due on Friday, March 31st. You will not be eligible for STUCO if this is not completed by the end of the school day. It is in your best interest to wait until after our meeting Friday, March 24th @ break in the SAC to fill out the application.  Lastly, we stress that although STUCO is a great leadership option on campus there are so many other ways to get involved. Regardless if you are a part of STUCO this upcoming year or not, please know that Mr. Oldani and Mr. Burr are committed to finding ways to help you grow as a leader. Canoe in Canada and the BWCA waterways this June –  All Brophy students, there is room for up to 4 more adventurist guys to join our summer immersion canoe trip to the Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area!  We are departing PHX on May 30 and will return on June 9.  See the attached detailed information about this trip, and talk to your parents today.  Your immediate attention to this is important – sign up with Mr. Kalkman, Mr. Davis, Mr. Unrein, or the OJF by the end of this week.

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

CONGRATULATIONS to Brophy Speech and Debate for their 2nd place finish at the Division 1 State Tournament this past weekend.  Tournament champions included: Tucker Brown, Andrew Crusa, Shikhar Srivistava, and Aman Agarwal.  Finalists included: Anthony Cardellini, Brendan Morey, E.L. Gaylord, and Blaise Schaefer. Great work guys!
CONGRATULATIONS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL – The Broncos took care of Gilbert in 3 sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21 behind the strong attacking of Matt Werner and Tommy McGrath, who combined for 12 kills and no errors on the night. Conor Dunn sprinkled in 5 kills of his own. Brophy is home against Desert Vista on Thursday night at 5:30. Be there, be loud, and be with Juan!

CONGRATULATIONS FROSH BASEBALL – Two very good teams faced off in a slugfest ending in a Brophy win by a score of 11 to 10!  Seven different Broncos crossed home plate for a great team win led by Bryce Michael & Jack Ragan at the plate, each hitting a Solo Homerun!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JV BASEBALL for its 13-5 win over Horizon Tuesday evening. Great pitching from Ethan Bertenshaw and Jared Johnson, along with phenomenal offense led to a Bronco W. The team is away at Desert Mountain, 4pm, Friday.

Sixty-Ninth Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 20 • 9 a.m. • Robson Gymnasium

Seating for the Commencement CeremonyThis year each family will receive eight tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. Additional guests are invited to view the ceremony on screen in The Dutch. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. (Doors open for handicapped seating at 8 a.m. Handicapped seating is on the floor, behind the graduate seating. Visibility may be limited, and watching from The Dutch will offer a better view of the ceremonies.)

Tickets will be distributed to families as they check in for the Senior Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, April 26. If you do not attend the dinner, please plan to pick up your tickets from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center after April 26. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost.

Planning Your DayThe Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. Following the ceremony, students will go back to classrooms to receive their actual diploma. Generally, families choose to spend some time in the Mall, taking photos with families and friends, with the event concluding around noon.

Kino Border Initiative Dinner – Please support the great work of Kino Border Initiative and join us for the Seventh Annual Kino Border Initiative Dinner on Saturday, March 25. Canoe in Canada and the BWCA waterways this June –  All Brophy students, there is room for up to 4 more adventurist guys to join our summer immersion canoe trip to the Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area!  We are departing PHX on May 30 and will return on June 9.  See the detailed information attached to the Daily Bulletin e-mailed to you about this trip, and talk to your parents today.  Your immediate attention to this is important – sign up with Mr. Kalkman, Mr. Davis, Mr. Unrein, or the OJF by the end of this week.

Registration for the 2017-2018 Academic Year – Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is open!  Information is available on Brophy’s website.  All students who are returning to Brophy are required to register every year. Registration materials must be completed and submitted to Brophy by FRIDAY, March 24th to reserve your place for the 2017-2018 school year.  Questions about the registration process for returning students should be directed to: Mrs. Shawna Khan, Registrar – skhan@brophyprep.org – 602-264- 5291 x 6531.

Key Club/Tech4Cuba Technology Drive: Key club and Tech4Cuba are hosting a Brophy technology drive. We are collecting small electronic devices. Donations could include but are not limited to Flash drives, Phones/smartphones, Tablets/iPads/kindle etc, Laptops, Small game consoles (ds, psp), and iPods/MP3.  All donations should be dropped off in Ms. Mazier’s room P110.
