STUDENT ACTIVITIES

CONGRATULATIONS SWIM AND DIVE – The Brophy Swim & Dive team hosted a 36 team invitational with most the top teams in the state this past Saturday at the Brophy Aquatic Center.  The Brophy Bronco swimmers and divers dominated the rest of the field and scored a total of 389 points with the second place team scoring only 307 points and remain undefeated for the 2016 season.  In a field of over 900 swimmers we overwhelmed the other teams with depth and quality.  Event winners were Mike Niezgodzki in the 200 free, Patrick Schramm in 100 breast.  Individual top Medal winners were AJ Frakes in the 50 and 100 free, Freshmen Matt Milovanovic in 500 free, and Noah Sugden – Diving.  Most of our athletes swam season best times and we achieved 28 State qualify times. These young men all swam and dove well at our second invitational of the season and set us up to have a fantastic State meet.  I am so proud of all our team members, they have worked and we are seeing fruits of that labor. A big thanks to all our fans. Great Job swimmers and divers, #29/39

CONGRATULATIONS CHESS TEAM for an outstanding performance at the 2016 AIA Individual Invitational this past weekend in Tucson.  Working as a team, Dave Mohan, Herman Sanghera, Lukas Villalba, Josh Gass, Robbie Coffman, Frederic Duquella, Daniel Gomez and Peter Moore won 1st Place as a Varsity Team.  Additionally, players Dave Mohan, ‘19 & Herman Sanghera ’18 won 1st & 2nd places respectively, for overall best individual record.  Great job, Broncos!  Photo attached

CONGRATULATIONS CROSS COUNTRY Congratulations to the Brophy Cross Country team. The Broncos runners won the prestigious Doug Conley Invitational last Saturday, with over 65 teams competing, the Brophy team scored 102 points. The team was led by Hociel Landa, Luke Mason and Drew Burns who finished 3rd, 11th and 13th. Freshman Jose Acuna and Sophomore Anekin Hetman also scored for the Broncos at 35th and 40th place.
