BRAVO! What an incredible opening night performance by the cast and crew of Romeo and Juliet! Congrats to all of the students – on the stage, in the shop, and in the control room. A simply magnificent effort last night by all of you. Thanks to Ms. Dias and Mr. Kelly for their work in guiding the students to this wonderful night. Tickets ($10) are still available until 1 p.m. today through Ms. Dennard for tonight and tomorrow night’s shows – but get them quick as opening night was almost a sellout. There’s a good chance we will not have tickets at the door! See you at the show this weekend! Shows run TONIGHT & TOMORROW NIGHT, 7 p.m. Shows will resume after Thanksgiving break on November 29, 30 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available from Ms. Dennard in the Student Activity Center, or at the door! BLAM. BLAM is sponsoring two new contests in the lead-up to the Fine Arts Extravaganza. The writing contest asks you to “write a script that begins with a knock on a door.” The art contest asks you to “combine at least two mediums to create a piece of art that plays with perspective.” Deadline: November 19 through the BLAM submission link in the bulletin.
BRONCOS FOR LIFE SPEAKER, Monday, Nov. 19 @ lunch, K10 – The Broncos for Life are hosting Elizabeth Van Wie who will be sharing her personal experience of facing an unplanned pregnancy. It will be in K10 on November 19th at Lunch. She will give a personal testimony on the challenges facing women today. All are welcome to join!
A Request from Andre House – Andre House is requesting participants for its annual Thanksgiving Eve Memorial Service and candlelight vigil to honor and pray for the souls of those who died without family or any loved ones present. Join the Dream On Campaign for “A Dream to Educate” on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Harper Great Hall at Brophy College Preparatory. RSVP here! Inspired by our Catholic faith and commitment to human dignity, we invite you to join to listen to the stories of two students whose struggle to create a better life due to their of access to an affordable college education in Arizona. Along with a number of partner organizations and the larger Jesuit community, we will learn about the reality that our students and community members face. Run for Justice 5K – Registration Is Open! Register here for the inaugural Brophy Run for Justice 5K scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8! The race starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the Brophy Sports Campus. The cost is $30 for adults over 18 and $20 for ages 6-18. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Proceeds from the event will go to Kino Border Initiative, Family to Family Foundation and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. If you have questions, email Run for Justice.
