  • Brophy faculty/staff was blessed to have Matt Emerson ’00 lead a retreat. Matt taught at Brophy in 2005, and then left for law school at Notre Dame. After graduation, he left his practice to join the staff at Xavier Prep in Coachella. Matt writes for America Magazine.
  • Christopher Collins ’01 was featured in the December 2013 issue of Uptown magazine. Read the article here!
  • Joshua Dennard ’11 talks Christmas at University of Montana.
  • Alex Lendrum ’09 (USC ’13) is the second-fastest Trojan ever in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke as well as the 200-yard individual medley. The two-time All-American also completed premed studies as a bio-chemistry major, posting a 3.76 cumulative GPA and making the Dean’s List every semester of his college career. Read more!

  • Dean Matthew Phillips ’71 – Dean is survived by his wife, Jan Phillips, daughter Jennifer Phillips and son Matthew Phillips
  • William J. Firth ’69 – Bill is survived by wife Anne, sons Will Firth ’11, Peter Firth ’06, daughter Lexi Firth; his brothers Tom Firth ’71, Paul Firth ’74, Gary Firth ’68; sister Debbie Firth (XCP ’72) and nephews Nick Firth ’96 and Erik Firth ’95.

Funeral services for Mary Jean Tanner

Please keep the Tanner family in your thoughts and prayers. A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Jean Tanner will be held in the Brophy Chapel on Mon-May 21 at 1:00pm. Father Tom Allender and Msgr O’Grady will preside. Mrs. Tanner is survived by her children: Ray Tanner ’62, James Tanner ’66, Tom Tanner ’69, John Tanner ’73, Michael Tanner ’76 (Gerard HS) and daughters (all Xavier grads;) Mary Pat Wiley, Kathey Metteer, Teresa Tiffany and over 27 grandchildren including Joey Tanner ‘04. She married her husband, Ray (dec.) in the chapel in 1942.
