Alumnus Pat Duncan ’76 opens the 2012 “Farmer in the House” dining series

Duncan’s Trading Company’s annual “Farmer in the House” spring dining schedule has included another stellar lineup. Pat Duncan ’76 says, “These elegant evenings feature special one night menus, created by the very best chefs in the valley. Though not vegetarian, the menus showcase the exotic fruits and vegetables from my boutique organic farm. We align with a vineyard partner, or pair each course with wines thoughtfully selected by the restaurant’s sommelier.”

Once again, Duncan’s Trading Co. will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Association of Arizona Food Banks (AAFB), an organization that provides food assistance to nearly 90,000 Arizonans weekly and has handled more than 42 million pounds in the last 12 months. Brophy Alumni Board sponsors Networking event for alumni and parents

We’re calling it a success. With nearly 150 alumni and parents (both past and present) in attendance, we couldn’t be more pleased with the excitement generated over this first Alumni Board sponsored event. Thank you to those in attendance and to Father Postell, Vicki Maus, Joe Helm, the Brophy Alumni Board, Jon Lind ’98, Stephanie Stefani, Patti Franz, Carol Ford and Pete Burr ’07.

Special thanks to our guest speakers John Graham ’75 (photo right) and Tom Franz, who spoke optimistically about the economic climate, specifically in Phoenix and in general across the country. Thank you to resource members Benito Almanza and John Strittmatter, who along with Mr. Franz and Mr. Graham, generously gave of their time to speak to the attendees on a personal level.

This week, Father Postell said he was encouraged by the survey that was sent out to attendees after the event. "Most respondents (83%) said they would like to see more events like this in the future and that they should be held quarterly. That 81% of responses were positive tells us that attendees found the event beneficial and worthy so we’re reviewing the possibilities."
